OK, so I knew this lady once who every time someone asked her what her husband did for a living she would reply, "All I know is that he is an Engineer that doesn't drive trains." That's where the title to this blog comes from.
Blog, now that's a stupid word.
Just in case you didn't get that, I am an engineer, or at least I'm trying to be. I graduate in May, and I am currently looking for a job. If your hiring let me know. (Sorry, I at least had to throw that out there.)
I still have a couple months till graduation though, I hope things will work out. I am applying for this fellows spot with the Army Materials Command. It would be totally awesome if I got on with them. I have done everything but take the GRE which I am doing on Thursday. Wish me luck! If I get the position it means I am moving to Texarkana for the next couple of years for school and training and then they will pick some place for me to go. On the up side I could work on future combat systems, like autonomous vehicles and drones, SWEET!
I have also applied at a bunch of other places, where I would be working on everything from nuclear submarines to toilet paper. The toilet paper job actually sounded pretty good, but I have already been turned down. It's alright though, I didn't want to work for those devil worshiping communist pigs Procter and Gamble anyway.
At least they were cool enough to send me an e-mail to turn me down. Most of the places I have applied to so far didn't even bother with the form e-mail of, "After careful consideration, we regret to inform you that you have not been selected for this position." from PacifiCorp. Or, from P&G "We have reviewed your qualifications and, unfortunately, are not able to pursue your application further. This decision represents our sincere efforts to consider your background and strengths for this specific opportunity." Don't you love how it sounds like they are doing me a favor.
In all fairness, one of those was for a Sr. engineering position, but they did say they would accept career level, which I assumed meant me, but I really don't know.
I am sorry if the spelling or grammar in these posts need some work. If you find any problems please drop me a line. I will make sure and give credit where credit is due.
Well, I gotta go now. I will have to try again a little later on. I have a project due tomorrow in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) that is calling my name in a whiny annoying voice. "I'm still here you know, and if you don't start now you will be up all night, you really should do things further in advance and quit putting it off so much. I am going to be a pain in the neck, so hard. You'll regret ever signing up for this class......" Shut up CFD I'll get to you when I get to you.
